It applies to our Canadian operations and any processing performed on our behalf by service providers in or outside Canada.

Effective date: 20 October 2025

Scope & Jurisdiction

We comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, substantially similar provincial laws (e.g., Alberta PIPA, BC PIPA, and Quebec’s Law 25). Additional rights may apply based on your province of residence.

What Personal Information We Collect

  • Identity & contact: name, billing/shipping address, email, phone.
  • Account details: username, password (hashed), order history, saved preferences.
  • Transaction data: items purchased, payment method, amounts, timestamps; we do not store full payment card numbers (handled by our PCI-compliant processor).
  • Technical data: device/browser type, IP address, cookie identifiers, pages viewed, referring pages, and approximate location derived from IP.
  • Communications: messages sent via forms, email, live chat; marketing preferences and CASL consent status.
  • Project information (optional): dimensions, drawings, finish selections, installation notes for custom orders.
  • Photos/uploads (optional): images you share for design or warranty purposes.

How We Use Personal Information

  • Provide, process, and deliver orders; administer accounts; verify identity; process payments and refunds.
  • Provide customer support, quotations, shop drawings, and installation guidance.
  • Improve our website, products, and Services; diagnose issues; perform analytics and quality assurance.
  • Communicate about orders, service notices, and—if you opt in—marketing emails compliant with CASL (with clear unsubscribe).
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats; comply with legal and tax obligations; maintain records.

Consent & Your Choices

We obtain consent when appropriate and give you clear, understandable information about our practices. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. For marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link or contact us.

Children: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. In Quebec, if we must collect information about a minor under 14, we will obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian as required by law.

Email & Text Marketing (CASL)

Under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we only send commercial electronic messages with valid consent (express or, where permitted, implied), include our identification details, and provide a working unsubscribe mechanism in every message. You can opt out at any time, and we will honour your request without delay.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site (e.g., cart and session), remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality (e.g., cart persistence).

  • Strictly necessary: security, cart, checkout, and session management cookies required to operate the site.
  • Performance/analytics (GA4 or similar): aggregated usage statistics to improve navigation, content, and error diagnostics.
  • Preferences: saved language/region, previously selected finishes or layout options (where offered).
  • Advertising & remarketing: we use advertising pixels and tags (e.g., Google Ads/Analytics, Meta/Facebook & Instagram Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Microsoft Advertising/Bing, and similar tools) to:
    • measure campaign performance and conversions,
    • build audiences and show ads that are more relevant to your interests,
    • limit ad frequency and prevent spam/abuse.
These technologies set identifiers and may combine information from our site with platform data in line with those platforms’ privacy policies. Where required, we obtain consent before setting these cookies. You can manage ad cookies via our cookie banner, your browser settings, AdChoices (interest-based advertising controls), or each platform’s ads preferences. Withdrawing consent will not affect strictly necessary cookies.

When We Share Personal Information

We may disclose information to trusted service providers who help us operate our business (e.g., web hosting, payment processing, shipping and logistics, email service providers, analytics, customer support). These providers are contractually required to protect personal information and may only use it to perform services for us.

We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect our rights or the rights of others, or in connection with a corporate transaction (e.g., merger or sale).

International Transfers

Some service providers may process personal information outside your province or outside Canada (for example, in the United States). While located outside Canada, information may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We use contractual and organizational measures to protect personal information regardless of where it is processed.

Security Measures

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging, and secure development and backup practices. Payment card data is handled by PCI-compliant processors; we do not store full card numbers.

Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy and to comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements. When information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it.

Your Rights

  • Access & portability: request access to your personal information and, where reasonable, a copy in a portable format.
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent & marketing choices: unsubscribe or change preferences at any time.
  • Complaint: contact us; you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy regulator.

To exercise these rights, please contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We may need to verify your identity to protect your information.

Security Incidents & Breach Reporting

We assess and respond to suspected privacy or security incidents. Where required by law, we will notify affected individuals and report to the appropriate privacy regulator if a breach of security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm. We also maintain records of all such incidents as required by Canadian law.

Unsubscribe & Preferences

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link that takes effect promptly. You can also email privacy with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. Transactional and service messages (e.g., order confirmations, shipping updates) are not marketing and will continue as needed to provide the Services.

Third-Party Links & Services

Our site may link to third-party websites or integrate third-party services (e.g., maps, embedded videos, analytics). Those providers have their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted or communicated as appropriate.
